Google Fiber starts with a connection speed 100 times faster than today’s average broadband. The premium package is $120 a month, and the next is $70. Google are waiving the usual $300 installation fee at the moment. They are also offering free internet at the usual speed, with the $300 fee, which can be spread over several months and can be updated at any point for no extra cost. If you want to try it out, you can head to the Fiber Space in Kansas City and try out the various features available.

Max Ross, co-owner of the Kansas City restaurant Fric & Frac, is owner of the first ever Google Fiber site. He’s currently running multiple wifi, ethernet connected chromebooks, a hangout, and a live gaming network (which we all know eats bandwidth). He also apparentl downloaded a 9.3BG file which took him ten minutes. He has run Netflix, an online gaming system and a youtube video simaltaneously, with no issues.

Max reports that it’s enabled him to offer an excellent hub for working professionals, including video editors who need super high upload speeds.

The system is said to be excellent for online televisual needs.
