It can sometimes be difficult to think up blog topics, especially if you are guest blogging for other sites, or have multiple blogs. Here’s a couple of tips for finding writing inspiration.

Ubersuggest

Use Ubersuggest. For example, if you type ‘cleaning’ into uber suggest, suggestions like this will come up:

So you could write articles about cleaning with vinegar, or cleaning silver, games or hardwood floors. It’s best to tailor the topic to a niche – for example you could talk about the best way to clean your product if you are a retailer, or the best way to spring clean your house if you are an estate agent.

Google Keywords

First, tick phrase match. It may be useful to localise your location if you are optimising for a particular area. Then use keywords like why, where and how, in conjunction with your targeted keyword, to find questions people are asking in your industry. It’s also useful to see which phrases are being searched for the most.

Leverage News

Addressing the news your followers are interested in can get you great traffic. For example, thousands of bloggers wrote about Samantha Brick and her Daily Mail article. Partly because it stirred up a lot of heated debate, partly because it highlighted an interesting tactic, and partly because people knew it would be a good way to get traffic.
